Material Reuse and Recycling

An existing house and garage on the site were sold rather than demolished. As a bonus, a nearby church got a free garage and a local family got a new home. Cabinetry and doors from the old Syvantis Technologies facility were salvaged and reused in the new offices.

Fairview Office Park covenants adopted by building owners encourage the use of alternative energy, non-toxic cleaning chemicals, native vegetation, porches and other outdoor places for rest and reflection. In addition, the covenant require a 100% smoke-free campus, low-impact signage, and recycling.

Estimated Savings: More than $18,000 by moving the home and garage, $9,700 on re-use of the cabinetry and $3,800 annually on garbage collection.
